About Mama Yola
What is Mama Yola?
Mama Yola is a curated maternal wellness shop for fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and baby. Every product on our shelves is reviewed through the Mama Yola Standard — our internal vetting process — before it's listed. We stock what we'd hand to someone we care about.
Who is behind Mama Yola?
Mama Yola was founded by Yakira Yolanda, a single mother who lived the version of early motherhood where support was scattered — and then lived the version where it changed everything. The brand is built where ancestral birth wisdom meets what's now available to mothers who want it.
Where is Mama Yola based?
We're US-based, with shipping to the contiguous US at launch. We'll expand shipping zones after launch.

The Campaign
What is the iFundWomen campaign?
We're crowdfunding $15,000 on iFundWomen to fund the first inventory, intentional packaging, and the story work — photography, podcasting, and the education — that lives alongside every product. Backers get early access, reward tiers, and the satisfaction of being part of building something that matters.
Why crowdfund before launching the shop?
Because we wanted transparency and shared investment from the very beginning. Crowdfunding lets the people who believe in this be part of building it — before the storefront opens.
How do I back the campaign?
Visit the campaign page on iFundWomen. Choose a tier that feels right for you. Every pledge — at any level — moves Mama Yola closer to opening.
What happens if you don't hit $15,000?
iFundWomen uses a flexible funding model — if we don't hit the full goal, what we raise still goes toward Mama Yola. If we raise half, we still build. We start with what we have.
When does the shop open?
After the campaign closes. Join the waitlist to be notified as soon as the shop opens — waitlist members get first access.

Products + Our Standards
What is The Mama Yola Standard?
The Mama Yola Standard is our internal product vetting framework. We review ingredients, sourcing, manufacturing practices, claims, and brand integrity before any product makes it to our shelf. Products are assigned a tier — Hero Pick, Trusted, Supportive, or Conditional — based on how they perform across the framework. You can read the full explainer on Our Standards page.
Why are some products listed as "preview only"?
We're in pre-launch. The shop isn't open for purchasing yet — but we've built out the full storefront so campaign visitors and waitlist members can see exactly what's coming. "Preview · Joining at launch" means the product is confirmed for our launch collection and will be available to purchase when we open. Join the waitlist for first access.
Do you carry supplements?
Yes — we carry whole-food supplements that have cleared our standards for ingestibles. We look at sourcing, processing, ingredient integrity, and claims. We don't carry supplements that rely on synthetic isolates, proprietary blends that obscure ingredients, or unsubstantiated health claims.
Do you work with independent makers and small brands?
Yes — and intentionally. We carry products from small makers, midwifery-aligned brands, POC-owned businesses, and thoughtful family-owned companies. The Standard applies equally regardless of brand size.

Orders, Shipping & Returns
Can I buy something now?
The shop is in pre-launch. Gift Cards are available now at any time. Some products and bundles may be available for pre-order — check each product page for its current status. For everything else, join the waitlist for first access at launch.
Can I buy a gift card before the shop opens?
Yes. Mama Yola Gift Cards ($25–$150) are available now and redeemable when the shop opens.
How do I join the waitlist?
Use the signup form at the bottom of any page, or on the homepage. You'll receive a confirmation email and our Welcome Email with more about what Mama Yola is building. Waitlist members get first access when the shop opens.
What about pre-orders?
Pre-orders are charged at time of purchase. If we're unable to fulfill a pre-order, we'll issue a full refund. Expected ship dates are stated on each pre-order product page.
Where do you ship?
Contiguous US at launch. International shipping and Hawaii / Alaska to be announced after launch.
How long does shipping take?
Standard processing is [X] business days. Delivery estimates depend on carrier and destination. We'll update this when our shipping setup is finalized.

Do you offer free shipping?

What is your return policy?
Unopened, non-ingestible products may be returned within 30 days of delivery. We cannot accept returns on opened ingestibles (supplements, teas, or edibles) for safety and hygiene reasons. This will always be clearly stated on each product page.
What about exchanges?
We don't process direct exchanges — return the item for a refund and place a new order for the item you'd prefer when it's available.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days of delivery at hello@mamayola.com with photos. We'll make it right.

I'm a doula / midwife / birth worker / integrative provider. Is Mama Yola something I can recommend to clients?
Yes — and we'd love to be in conversation with you. Mama Yola is built to be something practitioners feel good standing behind. Every product is vetted through The Mama Yola Standard, and the brand is grounded in the same holistic-meets-evidence-based approach that serious birth workers practice. If you want to explore a brand or practitioner partnership, use the contact form and select "Practitioner / Partnership."
I represent a brand that might be a fit for Mama Yola. How do we get in touch?
Use the contact form on our Contact page and select "Practitioner / Partnership." We review every inquiry. The Standard applies to all new products — a brand inquiry is the beginning of the vetting conversation, not the end of it.

What do you do with my email address?
We use your email address to send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and — if you've joined the waitlist — pre-launch communications and launch notifications. We use Klaviyo to manage email and do not sell your data to third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Do you use cookies?
